GoldenEar unveils the coveted BRX reference bookshelf
Sandy Gross is at it again, this time bringing some serious upgrades to an already stellar line of book shelf speakers. The Aon 2 and Aon 3 have been a staple of the GoldenEar lineup for years and have been well received throughout the industry. Gross and his engineers have been working on a high end bookshelf speaker for some time that will incorporate some of the technology (that only until last year with the release of the Triton One.R) was only found in the companies flagship floor standing model – the Triton Reference. The BRX will utilize the same Heil-type tweeter as heard in the One.R and Reference. This tweeter uses 40 percent more neodymium in its magnet structure compared to the tweeters found in the rest of the line up resulting in a smoother top end with even less distortion the previous generation of tweeters which were already touted for their astonishing low distortion. Also, the mid bass driver and crossover network have seen significant upgrades akin to the reference. To round the speaker out, they have been treated to a gloss black cabinet like their bigger brothers.
